Yesterday, Ari proved that she is a mechanic at heart. She fixed the Barista's Television antenna with the same ingenuity as Stacy would. It was nostalgic to watch.
I can't believe the nerve of some of these people. I'm one of the first to understand disabilities and illnesses and surgeries. There was this one person who came into Ari's work with this mop that the owner called a dog. Okay, first thing's first, if the dog it that badly matted, maybe you should be a little more concerned about a safe and humane grooming than whether or not she can groom that particular breed. I may not be an animal handler, but even I can tell that there was no way she would be able to give that dog a hair cut and make it look, "breed standard."
So your husband's been sick. Fine. You've been sick and have had surgery and you have only one arm. Fine. I'm sure that whomever was helping you recover was doing a lot of things for you. They could have taken your dog to the groomer. The dog doesn't like to be brushed by the husband? Take it to the groomer. (And this is me saying this! Aremis...we're getting a short haired cat.)
I couldn't believe she offered to groom your dog in multiple sessions. But she explained to me later that she would make the expenses outrageous for you to consider it. She's a sneaky thing when she wants to be. And after the dog snapped at her and after her explaining the dog's condition, you're still implying she was leaving half an inch on it? I would have smacked you upside the head for your stupidity. She was being SO NICE in speaking the broken record of "Naked dog, start over" phrase.
I've seen some pretty poor condition animals come through Arista's shop. This situation makes me angrier than the others because this woman used her disability as an excuse for the dog's matted mess. His TOES were splayed out because his nails were so long! How hurtful is that? if you have that much trouble keeping your animal happy and healthy, then find another home for your dog. But don't blame your disability on the reason why the dog's a mess/hasn't been to a groomer in almost a year. There's always a way around such obstacles. The 'poor me, I deserve better,' does not sit well with me at all. Sure, you deserve better. So make it better! Don't sit there waiting for the world to hand you your life on a silver platter. I guarantee you will go hungry.
And that advice is for whether you have functioning limbs or not.
This amused me last night, and it amuses me still. They're going to get me to read the books (once they're dug out of the attic) and tonight we're being dragged out to Laser Quest. I'm interested in seeing how well Ari does against her Military brother. I'm thinking the small target would be an advantage.
